OUR MISSION

WHY WE DO WHAT WE DO

Separateness, other-ness, us & them, duality. These words sum up a way of perceiving our human experience that is a damaging illusion that can mentally ensnare us and serve as a toxic ground from which we act. What is real, what is true, is that all who are are indeed of one fabric. We are one. When we hurt (hurting another or being hurt), we all hurt, felt or unfelt.  When there is injustice for one, there is injustice-- indeed disgrace-- for the whole of us. When the air or water is compromised, it is so for all of us. When we emit love, we all benefit. Racism, ageism, heterosexism, sexism, ableism, classism -- these examples of social injustices are broad swathes of duality-based systemic issues. These undermine the human condition and uphold the current power dynamic that has put us squarely in a climate crisis, indeed threatening life as we know it on our planet. We are each responsible. We are respons-able. Yoga serves as a collection of wisdom technologies to dismantle the illusion of duality. The power a yoga practice has to improve the health of a human body & mind is a microcosmic view of its larger impact. We believe that using yoga, together we can #makeMKEwhole, and beyond, by lifting the veil of illusion of our separation.
